What is the “Annapolis Free Downtown Shuttle”?
It is a shuttle bus that quickly and efficiently moves individuals from the around the downtown Annapolis area. This service begins at the Park Place Garage located off West Street and connects several parking garages and surface parking lots with local restaurants and businesses. The Free Downtown Shuttle makes stops at the following locations:
- West Street at Colonial Avenue – Eastbound (Knighton Garage)
- West Street at Lafayette Avenue – Eastbound (Gotts & Whitmore Garages)
- Church Circle (Circuit Court)
- Duke Of Gloucester Street (City Hall)
- Main Street at Gorman (shops, restaurants & City Dock)
- Church Circle between Main & School Streets
- West Street at Calvert Street – Westbound (Gotts & Whitmore Garages)
- West Street at Lafayette Avenue – Westbound (Whitmore Garage
- West Street at Colonial Avenue – Westbound (Knighton Garage)
When does the Shuttle operate?
The shuttle operates on the following schedule:
Monday-Thursday: 6AM-11PM
Friday-Saturday: 7AM-12AM
Sunday: 8AM-8PM

Ten Minute Trolleys
The City of Annapolis has launched the Maryland Avenue /State Circle and Eastport 10-minute trolleys, which are a convenient (& Free!) way to get around. They’re simple and convenient, just flag it down and hop on. Whether you’re shopping or spending time with family or friends, the trolley is an excellent choice! The trolleys run every 10 minutes.
The Maryland Avenue/State Circle Avenue Trolley services Gotts, Whitmore, and Calvert Street parking garages to the shops and restaurants along Maryland Avenue and State Circle.
The Downtown Trolley runs on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 5:30 pm.
The Eastport Trolley makes a continuous loop between Norman Drive, Chesapeake Ave., Chester Ave., Second Street, and Bay Ridge Ave. Transit passengers can connect to the trolley via the Green, Brown, Red, and Purple (weekends only) transit lines.
The Eastport Trolley runs on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 5:30 pm.
Please note: the Eastport Trolley is a pilot program through June 2024.
The Electric Trolley is an open-air vehicle and therefore will not operate during inclement weather. This includes temperatures below 30 degrees, heavy rain, snow or ice.
The Purple Bus Route operates Monday – Saturday evenings starting at 7pm. On Sundays, the Purple Route operates all day.
