SUMMARY:Sock Burning/Oyster Roast
DESCRIPTION:Sock burning is an old maritime tradition dating back to early sailors. On March 19\, 2016 from noon to 4p.m.\, the Annapolis Maritime Museum will be hosting the 6th Annual Annapolis Oyster Roast and Sock Burning. With spring approaching\, sock burning symbolizes the warm weather ahead and ridding of the uncomfortable socks worn throughout winter while at sea. \nFeaturing a quirky twist to this old tradition\, the festival will allow guests to set their socks ablaze while enjoying live entertainment\, shucking contests\, and cooking demonstrations\, and feasting on all types of oysters – raw\, steamed\, fried\, and grilled!
